Jamie Warde

Board Member, Programming Committee Chair

Jamie Warde is a theatremaker, originally from Buffalo, NY.  After several years working in production at regional and touring theatres there, he left home to see the rest of the country.  Following two summers of outdoor drama – among other misadventures – Atlanta was the city he settled in.  His first job in Atlanta was working as a Scenic Carpenter and Studio Technician for the TBS (now Warner Media) Scenery Shop, building and installing with the scenery crews for all networks, many CNN network newsroom build-outs, two national elections, and Turner’s first virtual studio.  Jamie’s primary occupation is as the Production Manager/Technical Director at Dad’s Garage Theatre.  He came to Dad’s Garage in the winter of 1996, first as a patron and volunteer.  Soon after he began working in Production, and finally started the ‘98-‘99 season as the new Technical Director.  Produced a WHOLE LOT of shows since then!  Over the years, Jamie has also worked on several leadership staff search committees, as well as the facility task force who found and renovated our forever home in 2015, after losing the original building where Dad’s Garage started.  Outside of Dad’s Garage, and in addition to serving as a Board Member for AGTA since 2021, Jamie was a Founder, Board Member, Production Manager, Writer, and Musician/Performer for Collective Works, Inc., a short-lived but brightly-burned theatre company in Atlanta during the mid-2000’s.  He also sat on a Mentorship Selection Panel for Theatre Communications Group in 2014.  When not at work, Jamie tries to take it easy with his lovely wife and rescue pup. He’s actually bad at relaxing, if you have any tips, pass them on.  Jamie is passionate about theatre and environmentalism, and is thrilled to be a part of the Atlanta Green Theatre Alliance, where those two concepts intersect!
